Council approved $1.46 million to rehabilitate vacant and dilapidated buildings across Thunder Bay and restored $55,000 in annual funding to the McKellar Mall Reserve Fund that had been cut in 2025. The city also greenlit a 41-lot residential subdivision on rural land near Lot 16 CON 3 SKR with environmental protections and buffer zones, renamed Current River Arena to Itec Community Arena under a 10-year naming rights deal, and set advocacy priorities for requesting provincial and federal funding that include affordable housing, bridge construction, and ongoing efforts to address homelessness and the opioid crisis.
