Ratifying Resolution

By-law 186-2023 – A by-law to amend By-law 135-1992

Council is pausing a proposed amendment to an old city bylaw and sending it back to administration for more consultation with affected stakeholders. Administration must report back by September 18, 2023.

WITH RESPECT to By-law 186-2023 - A By-law to amend By-law 135- 1992, we recommend that the By-law be referred back to administration to complete consultation with the affected stakeholders

Procedural

#2 CARRIED Council approved the official minutes from two meetings held on May 15, 2023: a special session about Thunder Bay Hydro's annual general meeting and the regular council meeting.

#3 CARRIED Council approved the official minutes from the May 15, 2023 Committee of the Whole meeting, confirming that the record of what was discussed and decided that day is accurate.

#4 CARRIED Council accepted the official minutes from the McKellar Ward meeting held on February 1, 2023. This is a standard procedural step to confirm the meeting record.

#6 Council approved five new or amended by-laws covering 2023 tax policy, special services fees, sign regulations, closing part of Brighton Avenue, and parking enforcement officer appointments. The sign regulation amendment was voted on separately.
