Council is asking city staff to explore different options for repaving City Road and Sandy Beach Road in Chippewa Park, and to investigate funding possibilities including the Municipal Accommodation Tax. Staff must report back by January 22, 2024.

WITH RESPECT to the Deputation from The Friends of Chippewa Park on December 4, 2023, we recommend that the request for improvements to City Road and Sandy Beach Road be referred to Administration to review potential alternate resurfacing options

  • Administration report back on or before January 22, 2024
  • Administration review potential funding sources including the CEDC Municipal Accommodation Tax for 2024

Council rejected a motion to remove language about the CEDC Municipal Accommodation Tax from 2024 from a carousel funding discussion. The motion failed, meaning the tax reference remained in the documents.

WITH RESPECT to the deputation from The Friends of Chippewa Park - Save Our Carousel Committee Update, held on December 4, 2023, we recommend that the following be deleted from Paragraph 3: " including the CEDC Municipal Accommodation Tax for 2024."

Council is asking city administration to develop new information technology policies and update the records management and privacy policies. Administration will bring these back to council by March 25, 2024 for approval.

WITH RESPECT to the Memorandum from City Clerk Krista Power dated December 7, 2023, we recommend that Report 182-2023 – Corporate Information Technology Policies be referred to Administration

  • Administration report back on or before March 25, 2024 with the proposed CIT policies, a revised Records Management Policy (03-06- 01) and the proposed Access and Privacy Policy as a package for council consideration.
