#4 LOST

Council voted down a proposal to exclude Frederica Street West (between Stanley and James) from the planned sidewalk and pedestrian crossover construction project. The street will remain included in the work.

WITH RESPECT to Contract 2, 2023 – Sidewalk and Pedestrian Crossover Construction, we recommend that Frederica Street West between Stanley Avenue and James Street South be excluded from the new sidewalk project.

Ratifying Resolution

Council approved updates to how the city invests its municipal funds and updated the investment policy statement. The motion also authorized additional implementation services related to a previous report.

THAT the following ratifying resolutions be introduced, read, dealt with individually: 1. Report 139-2023 (Corporate Services & Long Term Care - Financial Services) Investment of Municipal Funds & Investment Policy Statement Update; 2. Approval for Additional Implementation Services related to Report 08- 2022.

#7 CARRIED Council approved the creation of Municipal Law Enforcement Officer positions to enforce parking by-laws in Thunder Bay. This formalizes the appointment of officers who will handle parking violations and related enforcement.
