Council confirmed the agenda for the January 23, 2023 meeting, including all printed items and any additional business that was added.

WITH RESPECT to the January 23, 2023 City Council, we recommend that the agenda as printed, including any additional information and new business, be confirmed.

Ratifying Resolution

Council approved two items: board appointments recommended by the City Clerk, and a property-related matter handled by Realty Services. Both items were dealt with individually as ratifying resolutions.

THAT the following ratifying resolutions be introduced, read, dealt with individually: 1. Confidential Memorandum from City Clerk Krista Power dated, January 16, 2023, containing a recommendation relative to board appointments; 2. Report 2023CLS.005 (Realty Services) Property Related Matter.

Procedural

#3 CARRIED Council approved the official minutes from the January 9, 2023 meeting as an accurate record of what was discussed and decided.

#4 CARRIED Council approved the official minutes from two Committee of the Whole meetings held in January 2022. This is a standard procedural step to formally adopt and record what was discussed and decided at those meetings.

#5 CARRIED Council approved a new by-law that designates specific people to enforce parking rules in Thunder Bay. This establishes who has the authority to issue parking tickets and handle parking violations.
